The lionfish uses its flamboyant stripes and large feathery fins to warn predators of its painful sting. The stripes serve as camouflage against the reef by breaking up the outline of the fish when viewed from a distance. These fish are magnificent looking and swim like ballerinas. One of my favourite fish to observe in the water and a challenge to paint.
This artwork skilfully captures the delicate silky fins and detailed coral textures. A shoal of golden sweeper take shelter from the moving current. Blue and green hues seductively shimmer through the warm glow. This is an enchanting artwork that would suit a quiet contemplative area in your home. Wake up to a world of wonder.
