Harlequin filefish (Oxymonacanthus longirostris), are an exquisite species of reef dwellers found extensively on the Ningaloo Reef. They feed on coral and can often be spotted swimming in pairs. The colours and patterns are striking and act as camouflage amongst the coral.
This is the first painting of a series, celebrating the heart and soul of the coral reef – fishes. In essence they are the personality of the coral reef. When there is a multitude of rainbow coloured fishes it creates a memorable impression. A snorkeler and divers delight.
